About me

My name is Aimee Rose Formo (though you may know me by my SCAdian name, Ysabel de la Zarza) and I'm a stitch-a-holic. I've been making stuff since my grandmother taught me how to sew on a button at the age of 4, and the habit has gotten progressively worse since then. I started cutting up stray socks and turning them into little sweater dresses for my Barbie dolls. I now costume for 11.5" and 16" fashion dolls and 60cm BJDs; and I make 15th-, 16th- and 19th- century period clothing (though I'm itching to branch out into the 18th century and the medieval period). I'm also guilty of compulsive fabric-hording and the occasional foray into lace-making and other textile arts. I completed my Masters degrees in History and in Library Science in 2008 and I am on staff at a historic house museum. My husband and I participate in Renaissance dance reconstruction and related pursuits within the Society for Creative Anachronism. And I've recently taken up organic gardening. What can I say, I like to stay busy.

As I deal mostly in one-of-a-kind items, I find a shopping cart system to be a bit much-I'll happily send a PayPal invoice and I also accept money orders and personal checks. Unless otherwise stated, sales tax (for Indiana residents) is not included in available items' prices. I do, however, include shipping and handling in prices, both for available items and commission quotes. I may also consider a trade. Some things I definitely want: Elfdoll head support, 1/3 scale accessories, especially household items and period-correct things, Queen Elizabeth's Wardrobe Unlock'd, Vintage and antique lace and glass buttons. I ship via USPS Priority Mail with insurance unless other arrangements are made. This isn't a proper FAQ, since I haven't received enough questions to warrant a "frequent" rating, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me via email.
